Illinois and Indiana race fans will get to experience The Greatest Show on Dirt for the first time this year at the end of April.
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series will visit Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, IL on Friday, April 28, and then Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN on Saturday, April 29.
Along with Tri-City being the Series’ lone stop in Illinois this year, the event will also be the World of Outlaws’ first time back at the 3/8-mile track since 2008.
Tri-State Speedway, or known to many as just “Haubstadt,” will be the Series’ first of two stops in Indiana this year. The 1/4-mile bullring track consistently produces some of the most exciting racing on the tour, with drivers constantly side by side and navigating traffic.

Early Storylines:
HOME TERRITORY: Two World of Outlaws stars will be returning to their home territories during the doubleheader weekend – Lebanon, IN’s Spencer Bayston and Plainfield, IN’s Bill Rose.
However, neither have won at Tri-State or Tri-City. Coming off a 2022 Rookie of the Year title, Bayston will be poised for a home state victory to build up his sophomore season. Rose will be aiming for his first Series win.
STRONG START: David Gravel, Carson Macedo and Logan Schuchart have hit the ground running in search of their first World of Outlaws championship this year.
Gravel, of Watertown, CT, won the opening two races of the season and then concluded the Series’ visit to Florida with his third win of the season already. Macedo also picked up a win in Florida and then won the Low-E Insulation Spring Showdown mini-points battle. Schuchart is still looking for a Series victory this year but won his second Big Gator championship during DIRTcar Nationals.
Macedo has the upper hand on both of them at Tri-State, having won the last three World of Outlaws races at the track. He’s also yet to finish outside of the top 10 this year.
DRIVE FOR FIVE: Four-time and reigning champion Brad Sweet is on the hunt for his fifth consecutive World of Outlaws title. While he’s collected 80 victories in his career, he’s yet to win at Tri-City or Tri-State.
He’s come close, though. Sweet finished second to Macedo last year and in 2020. The Grass Valley, CA driver and his Kasey Kahne Racing team will be poised to keep their early season momentum going after winning at Magnolia Motor Speedway.
