It has been more than four years since the World of Outlaws Late Model Series last competed in South Carolina. The Series' most recent visit came March 26, 2022, at Cherokee Speedway, where Max Blair scored the World of Outlaws victory.

Now, the Most Powerful Late Models on the Planet return to the Palmetto State for the inaugural Modoc 100 on October 23-24, with the newly renovated Modoc Speedway hosting the World of Outlaws for the first time. The two-night weekend will feature a $12,000-to-win preliminary Friday night before Saturday's $25,000-to-win finale.

While the World of Outlaws have never competed at Modoc, the track has a long history of Late Model racing. The Xtreme DIRTcar Series held its season finale at the facility in 2020 and 2021, while the Southern All Stars, Southern Nationals and Ultimate Super Late Model Series have also competed at the track.

Modoc's new chapter began in March 2026 with its grand reopening following a multi-million-dollar renovation. Brandon Overton won the Ed Basey Memorial, leading all 54 laps in the Southern All Stars/Schaeffer's Spring Nationals co-sanctioned event.
