Founded in 1978 by the late Ted Johnson, The World of Outlaws® has been the home for premier dirt track racing for over 40 years. Featuring the most powerful cars on dirt, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series tour across the United States and Canada, visiting 23 states and racing at a combined 140 race tracks. The series is rich in history and tradition while continuing a tradition of competitive advancements the World of Outlaws is committed to improving both competition and safety across their series and facilities.
The World of Outlaws NOS® Energy Drink Sprint Car Series is the premier winged sprint car series in the world. Driven by the best dirt track drivers in the world, the World of Outlaws tour invades racetracks and thrills fans in more than 23 different states while sanctioning events at some of the most famous dirt racing facilities in the world. In addition, the Outlaws will be racing for nearly $6 million in purses and other prize money between the season opener at Volusia Speedway Park and the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series is the nation’s premier traveling tour for dirt Late Model stock cars. The Late Model Series first ran in 1988-89 under the direction of the late Ted Johnson, founder of the series’ cousin of the World of Outlaws NOS® Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. The series sat dormant until being rekindled in 2004 by World Racing Group and has grown each season since then to take its place as the most competitive and lucrative tour for dirt Late Model racers.
