Kasey Kahne, who retired from NASCAR competition, following the 2018 season, will be in action with the Outlaws on June 8, which will mark his Granite City Speedway debut.
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last visited Granite City Speedway in 2017, with 10-time and defending series champion Donny Schatz picking up the win. Shane Stewart was victorious at the three-eights-mile in 2016, while Schatz won the inaugural event for the Outlaws at Granite City Speedway in 2015.
Another strong roster of drivers is on the road, battling Schatz and Stewart this season. Brad Sweet, who has one win thus far in 2019, currently leads the standings by two points over Schatz as he chases his first Outlaws title. Daryn Pittman, who has already won twice this season, is third in points, just six markers out of the lead. Carson Macedo, the leading contender for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award, who won earlier this year, sits fourth in points, with Logan Schuchart, who already has two wins this season, rounding out the top-five.
David Gravel, who is in his first season aboard the No. 41 for Jason Johnson Racing, and already has two wins this season, is sixth in points. Shane Stewart currently rides seventh, with Ian Madsen, who has one win this year, in eighth. Sheldon Haudenschild holds down the ninth spot, with Kraig Kinser rounding out the current top-10.
Also back on the road this season are Pennsylvania natives Brent Marks and Jacob Allen as well as veteran driver Jason Sides.
