Keep up with the chase for the 2024 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car championship.

LATEST RACES: Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 (April 12-13)

CURRENT POINTS LEADER: Two more races, two more strong nights for David Gravel, of Watertown, CT, and the Big Game Motorsports team. They kicked off the weekend with their third win of the season before a fourth on Saturday, growing his streak of top fives to seven in a row. The point lead grew to 48 markers over Saturday night’s winner Donny Schatz.

MOVERS:

Michael Kofoid (+1): It seems Michael “Buddy” Kofoid and Roth Motorsports get faster every time they hit the track. A pair of Pevely podiums over the weekend elevated Kofoid to sixth in points. The Penngrove, CA native hasn’t missed the top 10 since a flat tire derailed a potential win at Volusia, and he’s been on the podium in three of the last four races.

Sheldon Haudenschild (-1): A solid showing Friday led Sheldon Haudenschild to a sixth-place effort. But on Saturday a Lap 2 incident left him with a 25th-place finish. That result dropped the Stenhouse Jr.-Marshall Racing driver to seventh.

CLOSING THE GAP:

Carson Macedo (5th): The Jason Johnson Racing team continues to build momentum with Carson Macedo posting a third and runner-up at I-55. The last nine races have resulted in finishes of ninth or better for Macedo, and he’s now only 12 markers out of the fourth spot in points.

Bill Balog (8th): Even though he hadn’t been to I-55 since 2020, it took Bill Balog no time to get back up to speed at the 1/3-mile. The “North Pole Nightmare” equaled his best finish of the season with a fourth on Friday before leading 10 Feature laps and coming home fifth on Saturday. Balog went from 90 points behind seventh to 56 markers outside the spot.
