CURRENT POINTS LEADER: David Gravel ended his longest streak outside the top five of the season, picking up a pair of fifth place finishes to start the California swing. He and the Big Game Motorsports crew continue to hold a triple-digit advantage atop the standings.
MOVERS:
Carson Macedo (+1): After three wins in the first 44 races of the 2024 season, Carson Macedo and Jason Johnson Racing are on a hot streak. They’ve topped five of the last nine and runs of eighth and a victory over the weekend helped Macedo rise to second in points as he looks to hunt down Gravel.
Donny Schatz (-1): The west coast stretch started with a Stockton top 10 for Donny Schatz, but he slipped to 12th on Saturday for his second lowest result of 2024. The two nights caused the 10-time champion to slip to third, 24 markers behind Macedo.
Landon Crawley (+1): Stockton served up a solid night for rookie Landon Crawley as he came home 12th in his debut at the California track. That outing helped the Sides Motorsports pilot climb back into the top 10.
Kraig Kinser (-1): The battle for the 10th spot in the standings took another turn as a tough “Golden State” weekend for Kraig Kinser dropped him to 11th.
CLOSING THE GAP:
Michael Kofoid (5th): When it comes to consistency, there’s no team on a better roll than Michael “Buddy” Kofoid and the Roth Motorsports crew. They’ve pieced together seven consecutive finishes of fourth or better with six podiums over that run. The Penngrove, CA native has closed to within 26 points of Giovanni Scelzi for fourth.
