Keep up with the chase for the 2024 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car championship.
LATEST RACES: Jacksonville Speedway (May 1), Eldora Speedway (May 3-4)
CURRENT POINTS LEADER: David Gravel and the Big Game Motorsports team continue to display incredible speed night in and night out. The Watertown, CT native topped Wednesday’s wild return to Jacksonville Speedway. A flat tire on Friday at Eldora forced him to rebound, and he managed to salvage a ninth before claiming his second victory of the week on Saturday. The pair of wins helped push his point lead to 48 markers.
MOVERS:
Carson Macedo (+1): After the tough start to the season, Carson Macedo and Jason Johnson Racing continue to climb back into championship contention. A trio of top fives including a Saturday podium elevated them to fourth in the standings. Macedo is on a roll of eight consecutive top five finishes.
Logan Schuchart (-1): Jacksonville didn’t go according to plan for Logan Schuchart as he finished 15th. But the Shark Racing crew bounced back with finishes of fourth and fifth at “The Big E” over the weekend. It wasn’t quite enough to hold back Macedo, though, as Schuchart slipped to fifth in points.
CLOSING THE GAP:
Giovanni Scelzi (3rd): Finishes of sixth, second, and fourth comprised a strong week for Giovanni Scelzi as the KCP Racing pilot closed on Schatz for second. “Hot Sauce” is only 10 markers behind Schatz in the points. Scelzi has only missed the top 10 once in 2024.
Michael Kofoid (6th): After a fifth consecutive podium run at Jacksonville, Michael “Buddy” Kofoid cooled off slightly in Ohio with two sixth-place finishes at Eldora. The consistency still allowed him to close on the top five as he’s now down to 26 markers behind the fifth spot.
