More than $300,000 will be up for grabs in a span of five days when the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series return to Ohio mid-July.
Between the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park (July 12) and Kings Royal Week at Eldora Speedway (July 13-16) – which includes the return of the $100,000-to-win Historical Big 1 this year – the best Sprint Car drivers in the world will be treated to the biggest week of Sprint Car racing in the Buckeye State.

Notables: The 1/4-mile bullring in northern Ohio has become synonymous with edge-of-your-seat racing and surprise winners, including last year’s Brad Doty Classic winner Spencer Bayston. The victory was Bayston’s first career World of Outlaws win and helped pave the way for his Rookie of the Year run with the Series this season.
He along with fellow Attica winners like Kyle Larson, David Gravel and 10-time Series champion Donny Schatz will return to try and conquer the Ohio track again, against the likes of three-time and defending Series champion Brad Sweet, Carson Macedo and Ohio-native Sheldon Haudenschild – all still searching for their first Series win at the Ohio track.

Tickets: https://eldoraspeedway.showare.com/
Notables: The Kings Royal Week at Eldora Speedway has expanded to four days this year with the return of The Historical Big 1 after a 19-year absence. Of current active World of Outlaws drivers, 10-time Series champion and 17-time Eldora winner Donny Schatz is the only driver to have won The Historical Big 1. Other former winners include Ohio’s Jac Haudenschild, Kenny Jacobs, Mark Kinser, Dave Blaney, Dale Blaney, Kevin Gobrecht, P.J. Chesson and Daryn Pittman.
Last year saw two unforgettable Kings Royals with Tyler Courtney earning his first World of Outlaws victory when crowned winner of the 38th Kings Royal and Kyle Larson picking up his first Kings Royal victory during the 37th edition. There have now been four different Kings Royal winners in the last four races – Brad Sweet won in 2019 and Donny Schatz won in 2018. Schatz also won three in-a-row from 2016 to 2018 – the first and only driver to have accomplished that feat, so far – and has five Kings Royal victories in total (2007, 2009, 2016, 2017, 2018).
Having a career season in 2022, Ohio’s Sheldon Haudenschild will try to take it a step further and match his father by grabbing his first The Historical Big 1 victory and Kings Royal victory. He claimed his first win at the “Big E” in May of last year.
