For the first time in nine years, the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models will race at Ultimate Motorsports Park this Friday and Saturday in an epic two-day event capped by a $35,000-to-win, $3,000-to-start feature.

Previously known as Friendship Speedway, drivers will acclimate themselves with the Elkin, NC track’s 0.375-mile surface over two days of competition. Friday night the Series will do battle in split 25-lap, $4,000-to-win Feature races before Saturday night’s grand finale — packed with 60 laps and $35,000 on the line for the program’s winner.

Local divisions of 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, and Hornets join “The Most Powerful Late Models on the Planet” for the weekend of high-octane action.

Tickets can be purchased at the track on race day. For more information about every event in the 2024 World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment schedule, visit WorldofOutlaws.com/schedule, or CLICK HERE.

Here are the top storylines to look out for this weekend:

Juice vs. Horns: Taking the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models points lead at Raceway 7, Nick Hoffman looks forward to keeping the lead as the Series enters his home state race at Ultimate Motorsports Park.

Hoffman’s juiced-up NOS Energy Drink No. 9 shows the way by four points over New Berlin, IL driver Brandon Sheppard, who had led the points until a blown right-rear tire totaled the lead for the Longhorn Factory Team No. B5.

The two drivers enter Memorial Day Weekend hoping to one-up each other before the three-week break of racing from the Series.

Ultimate Fergy: The previous visit to Ultimate Motorsports Park was in 2015, which saw 25-year-old Chris Ferguson take his first career win with the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models.

In the time since, the Mount Holly, NC driver picked up marquee wins in the Show-Me 100, Bristol Dirt Nationals, and the Prairie Dirt Shootout, and Ferguson has proven himself to be challenged once again when the Series visits the Elkin, NC facility.

Ferguson has four wins at the 3/8-mile track alongside the 2015 win — looking to defend his home turf on Friday and Saturday.

Rookies Heat Up: The chase toward the MD3 Rookie of the Year Honors has been split wide open with a quarter of the 2024 season complete.

Rochester, MN driver Dustin Sorensen made his way to the top-10 in Series points by picking up his first top-five finish of 2024 at Raceway 7 on Thursday and a hard-fought top-10 at Path Valley Speedway.

Evans, GA driver Cody Overton turned on the jets at Path Valley Speedway by setting a new track record (10.713 seconds) and sits 30 points back from Sorensen in the Rookie points hunt.

Mooresville, NC driver Max McLaughlin showed resilience at Marion Center Raceway after a wreck on the first lap had him endure a 20-place climb to finish in seventh place. “Mad Max” does not stop after Ultimate, as he plans to race with the Super DIRTcar Series at Weedsport Speedway on Sunday, May 26.

Northeastern Triumphs: The two drivers most prominent in the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models title fight of 2023 scored vital Feature wins in the three-race swing.

Gray Court, SC driver Chris Madden won back-to-back Feature races — with a flag-to-flag win at Raceway 7 and a 21-place comeback at Marion Center Raceway.

Reigning champion Bobby Pierce utilized his Illinois expertise at a new venue in Path Valley Speedway in a win to close the swing of races.
