SARVER, PA – June 29, 2012 – Dan Stone already knew what it felt like to win a World of Outlaws Late Model Series A-Main. Now he also knows what it feels like to hold off dirt Late Model legend Scott Bloomquist for a checkered flag on the national tour.

The 35-year-old driver from Thompson, Pa., pulled off another major upset on Friday night, turning back a last-lap challenge from Mooresburg, Tenn.’s Bloomquist to capture the second 30-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series preliminary A-Main of the Firecracker 100 Presented by GottaRace.com weekend at Lernerville Speedway.

Former World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champ Bags Preliminary Night Triumph For Second Consecutive Year At Lernerville

SARVER, PA – June 28, 2012 – Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., kicked off the sixth annual Firecracker 100 Presented by GottaRace.com weekend in dramatic fashion, outdueling Mike Marlar of Winfield, Tenn., to capture Thursday night’s 30-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series preliminary A-Main at Lernerville Speedway.

Mastering a slick, multi-groove track on a scorching summer evening, Bloomquist, 48, ran down Marlar and swapped the lead once with his fellow Volunteer State resident before securing the top spot for good on lap 27. The former WoO LMS champion pulled away over the final circuits to defeat Marlar by 1.357 seconds.

But will the fans react to seeing Mars and Bloomquist renew acquaintances at a track where Bloomquist set grandstand and internet messageboard conversations aflutter with his protest of the tires that Mars used to dominate the 2011 Firecracker 100? CANANDAIGUA, NY – June 26, 2012 – Darrell Lanigan spoiled Tim McCreadie’s home-track party on Tuesday night, driving to a convincing victory in the 40-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series A-Main at Canandaigua Motorsports Park.

In a mid-week event carrying sponsorship from Sweeteners Plus – the nearby business owned by McCreadie’s team owner Carl Myers – and Ballantyne RV & Marine, Lanigan sailed his Rocket car around the half-mile oval’s outside lane to take the lead from race-long pacesetter Shane Clanton of Fayetteville, Ga., on lap 23 and never looked back. The 42-year-old star from Union, Ky., ran unchallenged for the remainder of the caution-free race, beating Watertown, N.Y.’s McCreadie to the finish line by 2.971 seconds.

First World of Outlaws Late Model Series Rainout Of 2012 Comes Sunday At Ontario’s Cornwall Motor Speedway

CORNWALL, ONT – June 24, 2012 – The World of Outlaws Late Model Series’s blessed relationship with Mother Nature in 2012 came to an end on Sunday when showers struck Cornwall Motor Speedway, forcing the national tour’s first rainout of the season.

More than 20 dirt Late Models were already on hand and more were waiting to enter the pit area when precipitation began about 3 p.m. Cornwall owner Ron Morin made the decision to call off the night’s program after rain fell steadily for an hour and radar indicated that there was little hope of substantial clearing for the remainder of the evening.
