McCreadie Gets Second Win in Four Days with Bedford Triumph

By Spence Smithback May 19, 2025

With three-straight top 10s leading up to the OH-PA swing, Tim McCreadie entered the weekend on the verge of breaking through for his first World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision victory of 2025.

But a driver of McCreadie’s caliber knows that there’s a big difference between a win contender and a winner. After taking the checkered flag in the Billy Winn Classic at Bedford Speedway for his second win in three races, McCreadie finds himself firmly in the latter category.

“It’s truly a family and team effort,” McCreadie said. “I’ve known Boom [Briggs] a long time, he always said I would drive for him someday and right now we’re looking pretty cool.”

A lucky Redraw netted McCreadie the Bilstein Pole Award, putting him alongside Bobby Pierce to start the 35-lap Feature. The No. 9M used a strong launch to clear Pierce going into Turn 1 and jumped to the top side to pull away to the early lead.

The gap grew to over a second within 10 laps before McCreadie caught the tail of the field and Pierce began to reel McCreadie back in. Before Pierce could set up a move, Tanner English slowed in Turn 2 to reset the field with 18 laps complete.

On the ensuing restart, McCreadie put his newfound clean air to good use and rocketed out to a margin of more than three seconds over the field. He quickly made his way into traffic for the second time, but unlike the first, he didn’t yield the field any opportunities to close in and maintained an insurmountable gap on the way to his 35th World of Outlaws victory.

“I’ve been here before and it raced about like it normally does,” McCreadie said. “It got a little rubbered at the end, and then unfortunately, the lap cars were kind of in the rubber. I needed to get by them quicker and I did. I made a big mistake coming out from the white flag there, just missed the rubber. I thought [Pierce] was going to be all over me. Just tried to do my best, and I didn’t hear him off of four so I figured we were OK.”

Pierce’s runner-up result put him on the podium for the ninth time in his last 11 World of Outlaws starts, but he conceded that he didn’t have the balance he needed to keep pace with McCreadie.

“We were really loose from the drop of the green flag,” Pierce said. “I knew right then, ‘T-Mac’ busted out to the lead and it was kind of like Raceway 7. He would get into clean air and he was really good. We just needed to have a better car to compete with him. I thought the caution, the restart would give me a chance and he just pulled away again.”

Rounding out the podium was Dustin Sorensen in third with his best World of Outlaws result of the season, giving him a head of steam with a slate of familiar Midwest tracks next on the schedule.

“It’s a huge confidence booster,” Sorensen said. “I’ve been terrible this year, so this is good to get back to how we were at the end of last year. I thought I might have something there for them early, but the track just cleaned up too much. I went with soft tires and it hurt me at the end, but I think it helped me get Shirley on the initial start. I don’t know if I would have done anything different.”

Ryan Gustin and Nick Hoffman completed the top five.
