CURRENT POINTS LEADER: Brandon Sheppard capitalized on the mid-July weekend while second-place running Nick Hoffman suffered misfortune at Bedford and Sharon, helping the gasser of the No. B5 Sheppard Riggs Racing/Longhorn Factory Team Late Model to separate himself from Hoffman’s sight by 52 points. The New Berlin, IL driver finished on the podium in seven of the last 10 races as he gears up to finish the month with triumphs at Fairbury Speedway and Wilmot Raceway.
CLOSING THE GAP:
Bobby Pierce: The “Smooth Operator” had a banner weekend in the final Pennsylvania-Ohio swing of 2024 by sweeping the weekend’s Feature races at Bedford and Sharon. The Oakwood, IL native has not finished outside of the podium once in July as he continues to chase down the footprints of Hoffman and Sheppard in the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models title hunt with one of Pierce’s favorite events of the year up next – Fairbury Speedway’s Prairie Dirt Classic. He currently sits 134 points behind Sheppard.
Ryan Gustin: “The Reaper” has turned a new leaf in his 2024 Series campaign by picking up his second win of the season at the start of the month at Deer Creek Speedway and finishing on the podium in all three Feature races in the Pennsylvania-Ohio weekend. The Marshalltown, IA driver moved up to sixth in the Series standings as he works to close a 16-point gap on Brandon, FL driver Kyle Bronson to crack the No.19R Todd Cooney Racing Late Model into the top five in the standings.
