POINTS UPDATE: Madden Holds Point Lead; Three-way Tie For Second

LATEST RACE(S):Farmer City Raceway (June 1)
Tri-City Speedway (June 2)
Paducah International Raceway (June 3) 

CURRENT POINTS LEADER: Chris Maddens saw his 64-point lead shrink to 30 after Tri-City but extended that lead on Saturday with a third-place finish at Paducah. 

He enters the World of Outlaws Heartland Speedweek (June 23-July 1) with a 40-point cushion over Kyle Bronson, Bobby Pierce, and Nick Hoffman. 

GAINING GROUND:  

Bobby Pierce: While Bobby Pierce is still second in the standings, he cut 24 points out of Madden’s lead by the end of last weekend.  

Pierce won at Farmer City and finished third on Friday at Tri-City. He also led Saturday’s race at Paducah before a flat tire, knocking him back to eighth. 

MOVERS:  

Nick Hoffman [+1]: Nick Hoffman gained a spot in the Series standings, moving into a tie with Pierce and Bronson—40 points behind Madden.  

The Mooresville, NC driver didn’t finish outside the top 10 over the weekend, scoring a second at Farmer City and a fourth at Tri-City and Paducah. 

Kyle Bronson [+2]: Kyle Bronson had a better weekend than any other full-time World of Outlaws driver, finishing on the podium all three nights.  

The Brandon, FL driver earned a third at Farmer City before scoring his first Series win of 2023 at Tri-City. He finished the weekend with a second at Paducah, bringing him within 40 points of Madden.  

Brian Shirley [+2]: Brian Shirley jumped up two spots in the standings to fifth.  

The Chatham, IL driver earned a sixth on Thursday at Farmer City before finishing a close second to Bronson at Tri-City and winning his fourth USA World 50 at Paducah on Saturday.  

Ryan Gustin [-1]: Shirley’s jump to fifth moved Ryan Gustin back to sixth, entering the World of Outlaws Heartland Speedweek.

His fifth-place finish at Farmer City was the best of the weekend before an eighth and a 10th closed things out for the Marshalltown, IA driver. 

Brandon Sheppard [-1]: Like Gustin, Sheppard also dropped back a spot in the standings.  

The four-time Series champion scored three top 10s throughout the weekend, led by a fifth at Paducah. His other two finishes were a ninth at Farmer City and a 10th at Tri-City 

Dennis Erb Jr. [+2]: Defending Series champion Dennis Erb Jr. climbed two spots to ninth in the standings after scoring his first top five and top 10 of the season.  

The Carpentersville, IL driver finished fourth at Farmer City, 12th at Tri-City, and seventh at Paducah.
