POINTS UPDATE: Madden Extends Points Lead after Northeast Swing

Chris Madden

Keep up with the latest movers chasing the 2023 World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Model Series championship.

LATEST RACE(S): Marion Center Raceway (May 19)
Stateline Speedway (May 23)
Sharon Speedway (May 25-27)

CURRENT POINTS LEADER: On the strength of two wins at Sharon Speedway, Chris Madden has extended his points lead to 64 over Bobby Pierce.

The Gray Court, SC driver did not finish outside the top 10 during the swing, as along with the two wins, he finished ninth at Marion Center, sixth at Stateline, and fifth on night two at Sharon.

MOVERS:

Bobby Pierce (+5): Bobby Pierce has moved up five spots in the standings, despite not winning on the Northeast swing.

The Oakwood, IL driver has only finished outside the top five once in the last five races, and his worst finish was a sixth on the second night of the Battle at the Border at Sharon.

Nick Hoffman (+3):  Germfree Rookie of the Year contender Nick Hoffman has moved up three spots to third—only two points behind Pierce for second.

It comes after grabbing his first career World of Outlaws win at Stateline last week, backed up by a top five at Marion Center and three top 10s at Sharon.

Kyle Bronson (-2): The Northeast swing was a mixed bag of results for Kyle Bronson.

The Brandon, FL driver finished as high as second on night two at Sharon, and as low as 19th on the final night of the Battle at the Border.

Those finishes have dropped him two spots to fourth.

Ryan Gustin (-2): Like Bronson, it was mixed results for Ryan Gustin in the Northeast.

Even though he won at both Marion Center and Sharon, he also had a 25th last Saturday.

He’s now fifth in the standings entering Farmer City.

Brandon Sheppard (-1): Despite three top five finishes in the Northeast, the four-time Series champion dropped a spot in the standings back to sixth.

However, he’s starting to build momentum after two podium finishes in that stretch and returns to Farmer City where he scored a win earlier this month.

Brian Shirley (-3): Brian Shirley has dropped three spots to seventh in points after his best finishes in the last five races were a fourth and sixth, both coming at Sharon.

The Chatham, IL driver is 92 points behind Madden.

Shane Clanton (+2): Shane Clanton only finished outside the top 10 once in the five-race Northeast swing, led by a runner-up finish at Marion Center for the second straight year.

The Zebulon, GA driver moves up two spots to ninth, entering this weekend’s Midwest tripleheader.
