Defending Series Champion Brandon Sheppard Wins $50,000 and USA Nationals

Second in a row, three out of the last four, 11th of the season & 35th of his Outlaws career

NEW RICHMOND, WI — Aug. 4, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series was the headliner for one of the most prestigious races in the country, the 31st annual USA Nationals. The fast 3/8-mile, high-banked dirt oval of Cedar Lake Speedway, located just across the Minnesota / Wisconsin state line and northeast of Minneapolis, MN in New Richmond, WI, was host to the 100-lap main event of the weekend. Defending Series Champion Brandon Sheppard took home the big payday, grabbing the lead away from Jimmy Owens on lap 23 and holding off Brian Shirley to pick up his second victory in a row, sweeping the weekend at Cedar Lake, his 11th Series Feature win of the season and 35th of his Outlaws career.

NEW RICHMOND, WI — Aug. 2, 2018 — The 31st annual USA Nationals weekend kicked off on Thursday, August 2nd at the immaculate 3/8-mile of Cedar Lake Speedway, located just across the Minnesota/Wisconsin state line and northeast of Minneapolis, MN in New Richmond, WI. The first of three nights of racing for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, saw the teams vie for a $6,000-to-win payday and some important track time in anticipation of Friday and Saturday’s show. After swapping the lead back and forth several times over the course of the race, Brandon Sheppard slipped by Jonathan Davenport for the final time coming down for the checkered to secure his 10th Feature win of the season.

PLYMOUTH, WI — July 30, 2018 — For the first time in World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series history, the most powerful stock cars in the world invaded the 1/3-mile of Plymouth Dirt Track (Sheboygan County Fair Park), located east of Fond du Lac in Plymouth, WI, on Monday, July 30 for the Wisconsin Refrigerated 50. The 171th host track in Series history saw defending Series Champion Brandon Sheppard grab the lead on lap five and hold off 2017 Rookie of the Year Devin Moran to score his ninth Feature win of the season and 33rd of his Outlaws career.

Racing action kicked off on Friday, July 27 with four 25-lap World of Outlaws Showdown Qualifier Features paying $2,500 to win and $200 to start apiece, setting part of the field for Saturday’s 100-lap, $30,000-to-win main event of the weekend.

Brandon Sheppard Collects Eighth Win of 2018 at Black Hills Speedway

RAPID CITY, SD– July 10, 2018–  Brandon Sheppard collected his eighth World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series victory of the season at Black Hills Speedway on Tuesday evening. The Rocket1 Racing team continued their recent hot streak at the Series most western stop of the 2018 season.

The defending World of Outlaws Championship team has collected three wins of the Series last four events: Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on June 30, Dubuque Speedway on Friday, July 6, and Black Hills Speedway on July 10. The one event he didn’t win, Sheppard collected a fourth-place finish.

Sheppard Denies Moran at I-55

PEVELY, MO – July 1, 2018 – Brandon Sheppard denied Devin Moran of a weekend sweep on Saturday evening at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 as he claimed his sixth World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series win of the 2018 season.

Moran settled for second but it wasn’t for lack of effort. The young gun of Dresden, OH left it all on the line on the final lap of the Sears Craftsman Feature as he pulled a massive slider in front of Sheppard as the pair exited turn four and headed toward the checkered flag.

Brandon Sheppard Prevails at Wayne County Speedway

ORRVILLE, OH – June 16, 2018– During the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series fifth appearance at Wayne County Speedway, Brandon Sheppard collected his fifth Series win of the 2018 season. The Rocket1 Racing driver also became the first-ever repeat winner of the event.

Sheppard had a stand-out night at the 3/8-mile in Orrville, Ohio collecting the PFC Brakes Fast Time Award, his heat win and ultimately the $10,000-to-win Sears Craftsman Feature. Furthermore, Sheppard and his team proved to be on the rebound of some early season woes by collecting two wins and a second-place finish of the last three World of Outlaws races.

Contact at Stateline Speedway Causes Controversy Between Sheppard and Madden

BUSTI, NY – June 14, 2018 – Brandon Sheppard collected his fourth World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series win of the 2018 season at Stateline Speedway on Thursday evening. The New Berlin, IL driver hijacked the lead from Chris Madden on lap 35 after a restart. As the drivers headed into turn two, contact was made ultimately sending Madden in a 180-degree spin and to a complete stop. Madden, who had led every lap up until that point, was then sent to the tail of the field.

Sheppard Books Third Win

LAVONIA, GA– May 3, 2018– Brandon Sheppard led flag-to-flag in front of a packed house at Lavonia Speedway to claim his third World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series feature win of the 2018 season.

The New Berlin, Ill. driver entered the event at Lavonia 40-points behind Chris Madden in the Series point standings. Unfortunately for Madden, on the half-way mark of the feature he suffered from a broken rear end which took him out of the remainder of the race. Sheppard and Madden are now tied for first in the point standings with 986 points.
