DRUMMONDVILLE, Quebec – July 27, 2015 – Since the 2010 season, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series has visited Autodrome Drummond in Quebec each and every year. In that time, five different drivers have been victorious at the quarter-mile oval. The sixth annual race for the World of Outlaws at the track will take place this year on Saturday, August 1.

Donny Schatz, the current series point leader, who has won already won 21 races in 2015, picked up his first win at Autodrome Drummond in 2014. The six-time and defending series champion, who drives for Tony Stewart Racing, started fifth and steadily worked his way forward, eventually taking the lead from Kerry Madsen on the 27 lap of the 35-lap event. Schatz tops the leaderboard in nearly every statistical category this season with the World of Outlaws as he chases his seventh series title.

Madsen, who is currently third in points, led nine laps at Autodrome Drummond last year en route to a second-place finish. The Australian took the lead from Cody Darrah on lap-18 and was out front until Schatz got around him on the 27th circuit. Madsen, who was fastest in time trials at Autodrome Drummond last year, has been one of the most consistent drivers this season and is in search of his first win of the year.

Shane Stewart, who is second in points, will be making his debut at Autodrome Drummond. The Oklahoma native, who drives for a team co-owned by rising NASCAR star Kyle Larson, has won in Canada in the past, during the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. Stewart has five wins this season, including earlier this month in the $50,000-to-win Kings Royal at the famed Eldora Speedway in Ohio, which kicked off the “Month of Money.”

Joey Saldana and Brad Sweet currently round out the top-five in points. Sweet has a trio of wins this season, while Saldana was victorious in his home state of Indiana last month. Saldana won at Autodrome Drummond in his debut at the track in 2012. He missed the 2011 event, due to injury.

Also in action with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Autodrome Drummond on Saturday, August 1 will be 2013 series champion Daryn Pittman, the 2013 series champion, who drives for Kasey Kahne Racing. Veteran driver Paul McMahan, who ran fourth at Drummond last year, is one spot ahead of Pittman in the standings. Following that pair is veteran Jason Sides in eighth. Sides has won in the past in Canada with the World of Outlaws. Young gun David Gravel in ninth in points and looking for his first win of the year, as is third-generation driver Kraig Kinser, who sits 10th in the standings.

The two-car team for Shark Racing, consisting of Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen will also make the trip north to Autodrome Drummond. The team is owned by Hall of Famer Bobby Allen, one of the original “Outlaws.”

Jason Johnson, the leading contender for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award with the World of Outlaws this season, will be making his first visit to Autodrome Drummond. The native of Eunice, Louisiana, recently returned to the driver’s seat after missing nearly three months of action due to injury and earned a season-best second-place finish in the Kings Royal.
