World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Marching Into Perris Auto Speedway

‘Greatest Show on Dirt’ racing at famed half-mile March 10 for first time since 2007

CONCORD, N.C. — Feb. 29, 2012 — The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns Saturday, March 10, to notable Perris Auto Speedway for the first time in five years to compete in the NAPA Know How SoCal Showdown.

The famed semi-banked, half-mile, which is located on the scenic Lake Perris Fairgrounds in Perris, Calif., has hosted a variety of premier sprint car races since it was built in 1996. Among those have been a dozen World of Outlaws events since that opening year.

Craig Dollansky Ready for 2012 Campaign

A new year to most commences when the calendar flips from December to January.  In racing the new year begins the day after the final race of the season.  For the Big Game Treestands #7 team this viewpoint was instilled in early November as the team spent the next few months at the Princeton, MN shop preparing for 2012.  After accruing numerous hours doing countless tasks the hauler has at last been loaded and the team is heading south for warmer temperatures in Florida as anticipation builds for the World of Outlaws season that kicks off at the 41st Annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals.

Kraig Kinser Has Strong Week at Volusia: Earns Three Top-10 Finishes

Bloomington, Ind. — Feb. 20, 2012 — Kraig Kinser had a couple of goals heading into the season-opening 41st Annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. First, he wanted to run up front and be a contender for wins, which he did on two of the nights of racing. Second, he wanted to be consistent and build a solid foundation for the remainder of the nearly 80-race season, which he also did, racing his way into all five main events during the week of action and racking up three Top-10 finishes.

Schatz Looks To Continue Winning Ways

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 15, 2012) – When the 2011 World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series season concluded last November, there was a bug going around the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) camp. It was something that not only TSR’s Donny Schatz felt, but his boss, Tony Stewart, also caught it. The 2012 WoO season is set to open this weekend with the 41st Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals by University of Northwestern Ohio at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., and Schatz is hoping he hasn’t been cured.

Steve Kinser Sets Lofty Goals

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 14, 2012) – Twenty-time World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series champion Steve Kinser started his day with a morning bike ride in the fresh Florida sunshine. It was a chance for the driver of the Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) No. 11 Bass Pro Shops/JD Byrider/Chevy Maxim to break a sweat on the final day of his offseason. On Wednesday night, it’s back to business behind the wheel of a Winged Sprint car for the 56-year-old with the 41st Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals by University of Northwestern Ohio kicking off the 2012 season at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla.

Kraig Kinser Back in Family Car

 Bloomington, Ind. — Feb. 14, 2012 — In racing familiarity often breeds success. For Kraig Kinser, that has certainly been the case over the years, especially when he has been behind the wheel of the family-owned No. 11K. He claimed the 2004 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award with the World of Outlaws in the car and won the Knoxville Nationals the following season, driving for his father Steve’s team.

Background: DJ has been a familiar face on the World of Outlaws circuit since 2000. His passion for racing began in high school with stock car racing on the dirt and he fell in love with sprint car racing in the mid-80s when he began crewing for his brother, Dean.
