World of Outlaws face a challenge at the bullring known as Silver Dollar Speedway

CHICO, Calif. — March 20, 2012 — At least one World of Outlaws feature has been held at historic Silver Dollar Speedway since 1979.

There are five scheduled races this year beginning with the Mini Gold Cup this Friday and Saturday at the high-banked, quarter-mile track on the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds.

SILVER DOLLAR SPEEDWAY

TULARE, Calif. – March 19, 2012 – After three races in the Golden State the past two weekends, the World of Outlaws, Californians and the weather each have a victory.

Joey Saldana won the first event in California by outlasting California native and two-time defending World of Outlaws champion Jason Meyers in the NAPA Know How SoCal Showdown at Perris Auto Speedway on March 10 in Perris. Californian Tim Kaeding then became the first repeat winner when he dominated the opener at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare last Friday before rain claimed Saturday’s finale.

This weekend signifies one of the biggest battles between the Outlaws and Californians as the largest field of competitors in a World of Outlaws event this season is expected to challenge for the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., on Friday and Saturday.

World of Outlaws Rained Out at Thunderbowl Raceway

Heavy rains have postponed racing action, new date to be determined

TULARE, Calif. — March 17, 2012 — After heavy rains hit the area and with a forecast of additional wet weather throughout the night, Thunderbowl Raceway and World of Outlaws officials have been forced to postpone tonight’s race.

A makeup date is being actively pursued. For updates on a rescheduled date, go to www.ThunderbowlRaceway.com or www.WorldofOutlaws.com.

The ‘challenging’ track has the attention of the World of Outlaws competitors

TULARE, Calif. – March 14, 2012 – As the World of Outlaws West Coast swing nears its midpoint, the dozen full-time competitors are faced with a stiff challenge this weekend at Thunderbowl Raceway.

As it turns out, finding a few minutes to write a blog has proved to be tougher than I anticipated. We have been busy with everything from preparing the race cars and putting sponsor hospitality together to a nice trip to Disneyland and then Yosemite today with our kids and Shane’s family. It has been great having Shane and his family out for the past couple of weeks and we have enjoyed sharing some good times together. I only wish we could have them for a couple more weeks so that we could wrap up our tour with Shane and share with them some more of the great sites that California has to offer.
