NEW RICHMOND, WI – Aug. 4, 2012 – Darrell Lanigan added a coveted crown-jewel victory to his spectacular 2012 campaign with a flawless performance in Saturday night’s 25th annual USA Nationals presented by U.S. Steel at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Dominating the richest World of Outlaws Late Model Series event of the season, the 42-year-old star from Union, Ky., rocketed off the outside pole to grab the lead at the initial green flag of the 100-lap A-Main and never looked back. He survived a mid-race challenge from Don O’Neal of Martinsville, Ind., and a final-lap mechanical scare to pocket the prestigious race’s $50,000 top prize.

NEW RICHMOND, WI – Aug. 3, 2012 – Frankie Heckenast Jr. of Orland Park, Ill., and Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., earned front-row starting spots in the 25th annual USA Nationals with their performances on Friday night at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Even the possibility of racing for another $25,000 to win Saturday evening’s 100-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series A-Main wasn’t enough to shake them from their prime positions.

Iowa Star Seeks First-Ever Victory On National Tour At Track Just A Half-Hour Drive From His Home

INDEPENDENCE, IA – Aug. 3, 2012 – Chad Simpson flirted with a World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory last year. He’d love to finish the job when the national tour makes a second annual visit on Monday night (Aug. 6) to Independence Motor Speedway.

While Simpson, 33, has never competed regularly at Independence, the three-eighths-mile oval is just over a 30-minute drive from his home in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. That location gives him even more incentive to pull off a triumph that would rank as one of the biggest of his already impressive eight-year career in the dirt Late Model division.

Unsuccessful Track-Drying Effort Forces Postponement Of Shawano Speedway’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series Event To Aug. 7

SHAWANO, WI – Aug. 1, 2012 – A late-afternoon thunderstorm that drenched Shawano Speedway was ultimately too much to overcome, forcing the postponement of Wednesday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series event.

The national tour’s third annual visit to the half-mile oval 45 minutes Northwest of Green Bay has been rescheduled for Tues., Aug. 7. All tickets and pit bands purchased for Wednesday night’s program will be good for admission on the race’s new date.
