Stateline Speedway has a knack for producing first-time winners.

The Busti, NY facility’s first two World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision races saw John Blankenship and Dick Barton score their first wins in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Last time the Series was in town in 2023, Nick Hoffman rolled into Victory Lane for the first time.

In 2026, it was Daulton Wilson’s turn.

“Big Perm” and his Big Frog/Viper Motorsports No. 58V team took on the World of Outlaws tour full-time in 2026 intending to win races against the best. He had several chances to do that early in the season, most notably at East Alabama Motor Speedway and Bedford Speedway, where he led a combined 66 laps before falling short on both occasions.

After showing plenty of speed in the spring, the summer schedule had been a grind for Wilson. Since finishing second at Bedford in mid-May, the Fayetteville, NC native only finished in the top 10 three times in 12 starts and recorded no top fives. Wilson needed a spark at Stateline, and he got everything he could have asked for.

The Rick Briggs Memorial powered by Dave Warren Powersports was simply a perfect night at the track for Wilson. He earned the Simpson Quick Time Award for the first time in his career and won his Heat Race to lock himself into the Redraw. He proceeded to pull the Bilstein Pole Award, and took advantage of that good fortune by leading all 40 circuits to become the 105th different winner in World of Outlaws history.

“It’s just awesome,” Wilson said. “We’ve had a good car all year. We’ve had some ups and downs, we’ve had our teeth kicked in and we’ve been good. It’s just awesome to finally get one done. Can’t thank Augie [Burttram] and Shawn [Martin] enough for giving me the opportunity and really putting this deal together for all of us.”

Behind Wilson, the other story of the race came in the form of Zack Mitchell, who finished second in his first start as the new driver of the G.R. Smith Motorsports No. 22*.

Nick Hoffman rounded out the podium in third for his sixth podium in the last seven races. Dave Hess Jr. finished fourth, while Bobby Pierce’s quest for a record-breaking seventh World of Outlaws win in a row ended in the fifth spot.
