JOHNNY’S FIVE: Williams Grove Speedway’s Summer Nationals

Johnny's picks for Williams Grove Speedway

Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event? Series Announcer Johnny Gibson will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.

This week: World of Outlaws C&D Rigging Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway, July 25-26

JOHNNY’S FIVE:

David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. Gravel finished second here in May and is a nine-time Williams Grove winner.

Anthony Macri
Why: The “Concrete King” may be the hottest Sprint Car driver in the country right now, and that’s two months AFTER winning against the Outlaws at Williams Grove in May! In addition to the Morgan Cup victory, Macri has two other Williams Grove wins among his 10 total in 2025.

Carson Macedo
Why: The 2024 National Open winner will be looking to rebound from a DNF here in May. Macedo has been good at “The Grove,” with four career wins, including the 2020 season opener.

Buddy Kofoid
Why: IF Kofoid has a shot at catching David Gravel at the top of the standings, he has to continue racking up wins (and hope for some bad luck for Gravel). Kofoid got his first Williams Grove win last year, and has proven he’s a threat every night.

Donny Schatz
Why: It’s been a historically bad year for the 10-time World of Outlaws champion, with just seven top five finishes. One of those came here in May, and if there’s a track where Donny can cure what ails the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing No. 15 team, it’s Williams Grove, where he has 21 wins and 71 top five finishes in 140 starts.

You can follow these drivers and more this week at Williams Grove Speedway by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.

If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch all the action live – and listen to Johnny announce – on DIRTVision.
