Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event? Series Announcer Johnny Gibson will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.
This week: World of Outlaws Hy-Vee Perks 40 at Jacksonville Speedway, April 25, and World of Outlaws Haubs Town Showdown at Tri-State Speedway on April 26
JOHNNY’S FIVE:
David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. He won a Race-of-the-Year candidate at Jacksonville Speedway last year and is a two-time Tri-State winner.
Carson Macedo
Why: Macedo is the 2019 Jacksonville Speedway winner. He’s scored a top-five finish in five of six career starts at Jacksonville, and has three wins and six top fives in his last six appearances at Tri-State Speedway.
Brady Bacon
Why: He’s struggled with the World of Outlaws at Jacksonville, but has a second-place run there with MOWA. At Tri-State, he’s the two-time and defending winner.
Sheldon Haudenschild
Why: He’s improved with every start at Jacksonville, including a seventh-place finish there last year. He scored a runner-up finished at Tri-State last year. Is 2025 the year he breaks through in Haubstadt?
Chris Windom
Why: Windom finished second with the All-Star Circuit of Champions in his only previous Jacksonville start. Tri-State is a place where “Non-Wing guys” fare better than most places. Windom has a win there, and eight top fives (including one in a Winged Sprint Car against IRA last year).
You can follow these drivers and more all weekend at Jacksonville Speedway, April 25, and Tri-State Speedway, April 26, by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.
If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch every lap live – with Johnny Gibson – on DIRTVision.
