Madden Wins Sundrop Shootout at Shawano Speedway, Moves into Tie for Points Lead

SHAWANO, WI — July 31, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series returned to the big half-mile of Shawano Speedway, located west of Green Bay in Shawano, WI, for the next race on the Week of Wisconsin tour on Tuesday, July 31st. The $10,000-to-win Sundrop Shootout also marked the 10th all-time appearance by the most powerful stock cars in the world. When all was said and done after 50 laps, Chris Madden started on the pole and dominated all 50 laps en route to his sixth Feature win of the season. With the victory, the Gray Court, SC standout moved into a tie for the points lead in the chase for the 2018 Series Championship.

Carr Captures First Win at Volusia Speedway Park

iRACING — July 30, 2018 — The sixth round of the iRacing World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Championship Series was another one for the record books. Hard racing all night ended with Austin Carr edging out points leader Howard Weaver for his first win in the Series.

This week gave the competitors a little nudge with the official announcement of the Championship prize package. It includes a VIP trip to the World of Outlaws World Finals in early November and an invitation to attend and be acknowledged as Champion at the World of Outlaws Banquet. The Champion will walk away with a point fund check of $3,000 (plus his weekly purse winnings), an official World of Outlaws Championship trophy, a Craftsman Mechanics Tool Set, and an MPI steering wheel, as well as a one-on-one instructional session with Clint Bowyer in his two-seater Late Model. Bowyer will show techniques and lines and then turn the wheel over to the champ. It’s going to be a great week for whoever wins.

PLYMOUTH, WI — July 30, 2018 — For the first time in World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series history, the most powerful stock cars in the world invaded the 1/3-mile of Plymouth Dirt Track (Sheboygan County Fair Park), located east of Fond du Lac in Plymouth, WI, on Monday, July 30 for the Wisconsin Refrigerated 50. The 171th host track in Series history saw defending Series Champion Brandon Sheppard grab the lead on lap five and hold off 2017 Rookie of the Year Devin Moran to score his ninth Feature win of the season and 33rd of his Outlaws career.

FAIRBURY, IL — July 28, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series headlined one of the most prestigious races in the country on Friday and Saturday night: the 29th annual Prairie Dirt Classic presented by Bank of Pontiac. The fast quarter-mile of Fairbury American Legion Speedway, located northeast of Bloomington in Fairbury, IL, served as host to the 100-lap Feature, paying $30,000 to win. Fans cheered as a rising star emerged victorious with the biggest win of his career. 2017 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year Devin Moran passed defending Series Champion and defending Prairie Dirt Classic winner Brandon Sheppard for the final time with 21 laps to go to secure the big payday.

The big half-mile located just west of the Iowa/Illinois state line and part of the Quad Cities in Davenport, IA was the site for a $10,000-to-win payday and first race of a marathon two-week stretch for the most powerful stock cars in the world.
