BARBERVILLE, Fla. – Feb. 11, 2015 – World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series regular Kerry Madsen enters the second night of DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park with momentum at his back as he prepares to take on the half-mile track with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions.
The Keneric Racing driver swept all three All Star nights at Bubba Raceway in Ocala, Fla. It added to an already productive 2015 that has seen Madsen take two big wins in Australia.
“We had a lot of confidence coming out of last season anyway,” Madsen said. “[Bubba] was sort of a pre-season thing – anything can happen. We just wanted to go down there and run well and get back in the motions. To win three in a row, to get the opportunity to win and get the job done, that was great for the team. We’re firing on all cylindars. It’s dirt track racing, we’re at a new track this week but we are super excited to be here at Volusia.
“Hopefully we can keep the momentum up. In reality we’re not going to go on some winning sweep forever. We know what’s to come but we’re confident we’re starting the season off on a high for sure.”
Madsen enters 2015 after one of the most successful seasons of his career. He took six wins in his American Racing Custom Wheels car and finished fourth in the championship standings.
“We had an awesome season last year, a good points finish in fourth,” Madsen said. “A win at Kings Royal and some other big races. Hopefully this team goes on to some bigger and better things. We’ve got a great organization with great people… We’re super excited to see what happens.”
The key to success in 2015 is consistency, Madsen said.
“You can have one week and you’re excited – we won have three in a row. The reality is, 10 months to go, 90 races. It’s a marathon. It’s a jog. You can’t get out of the blocks with a sprint and think we’re going to put something on this in the first ten races. We’re just going to try to plod along and do our thing. It’s about getting some good, consistent finishes at the start of our season and then building off of that from there.”
