JOHNNY’S FIVE: Plymouth Dirt Track

Johnny Gibson's picks for Plymouth Dirt Track

Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event? Series Announcer Johnny Gibson will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.

This week: World of Outlaws Badger State Triple at Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, WI, June 6

JOHNNY’S FIVE:

David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. David makes his Plymouth debut tonight and has gone five races without a win for only the second time this season. Does that mean he’s “due”?

Bill Balog
Why: The 10-time IRA champion races in his adopted home state at a track where he has 22 career wins, including two against a national touring series (All Star Circuit of Champions). If ever there was a “Bill Balog track,” this would be it!

Rico Abreu
Why: Second only to David Gravel in wins in 2025, Abreu was victorious at Plymouth Dirt Track against the All Star Circuit of Champions in 2023.

Donny Schatz
Why: Though it’s been 20 years since the World of Outlaws raced at Plymouth, Schatz was top five in both previous appearances. A pair of podium finishes last week in North Dakota may mean the 10-time champion is on the upswing.

Zach Hampton
Why: Hampton picked up a podium finish here with the IRA in 2022. He’s shown speed recently, but has also had perhaps the worst luck of any Sprint Car driver over the past few weeks. Plymouth could be just the track to change that!

You can follow these drivers and more tonight at Plymouth Dirt Track by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.
