Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event? Series Announcer Johnny Gibson will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.
This week: Huset’s Hustle/ BillionAuto.com Huset’s High Bank Nationals presented by Menard’s at Huset’s Speedway, June 18-21
JOHNNY’S FIVE:
David Gravel
Why: Until proven otherwise, number one on this list every week. The defending champ is doing historical things. Gravel has won three World of Outlaws races at Huset’s Speedway – which sits in the shadow of the spectacular shop/headquarters built by team and track owner Tod Quiring.
Buddy Kofoid
Why: The defending BillionAuto.com Husets High Bank Nationals presented by Menard’s champion has a stellar Huset’s record: Two World of Outlaws wins, two Midget wins, and 13 top-five finishes in 19 career starts at the track.
Kyle Larson
Why: Though Larson MAY only be racing the Huset’s Hustle Wednesday and Thursday, the generational talent is ALWAYS a threat to win. Kyle has accumulated two wins and five top-five finishes in 10 appearances at the Brandon, SD bullring.
Sheldon Haudenschild
Why: Another driver with an outstanding Huset’s resume, Sheldon has stacked up three wins in the last four years, including a spectacular third-to-first last-lap heroics that helped elevate this event to “must see” status.
Kerry Madsen
Why: Perhaps the biggest wild card in the field this week. The “Mad Man” has never won at Huset’s, but has been FAST over the course of the last two years, both here and pretty much any other place he straps into the Vermeer No. 55V. World of Outlaws runner-ups at Jackson and Knoxville accompany a second-place finish at Huset’s earlier this year. Keep an eye on Kerry this week!
You can follow these drivers and more this week at Huset’s Speedway by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.
UP NEXT: World of Outlaws Independence Spectacular at Cedar Lake Speedway on Friday-Saturday, June 27-28
