Continued Rain, Flooded Grounds Cancel Cowtown Classic Finale

RainOutGraphic
The focus turns to Cotton Bowl Speedway’s Texas Two-Step next weekend

With more rain than anticipated falling throughout Friday at Kennedale Speedway Park leaving the pits unusable and the racing surface flooded, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car and track officials have agreed to cancel tomorrow’s (March 9) Cowtown Classic finale.

After several inches of precipitation fell from Wednesday evening through early Friday morning, a not forecasted stretch of showers hit the track again on Friday afternoon. Officials have worked diligently throughout the day to prepare the facility, but after the additional heavy rain, it was determined the grounds could not be worked back into usable and safe racing conditions.

If you purchased a ticket in advance for this weekend’s Kennedale Speedway Park event, you will receive a face-value credit to your MyDirtTickets.com account – good for two years – to be used toward any World of Outlaws event available at WorldofOutlaws.com/tix. If a credit to your account does not work for you, then you have until April 8 to request a refund.

The Series now shifts its focus to next weekend’s (March 15-16) Texas Two-Step at Cotton Bowl Speedway. For tickets, CLICK HERE.

David Gravel currently leads the standings by 12 markers over Donny Schatz and Giovanni Scelzi, who are tied for second.

If you can’t make it to the track, catch every lap live on DIRTVision.
