Bio

David Gravel joins Big Game Motorsports to run for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series championship in 2021.

He parted ways with Jason Johnson Racing at the end of 2020, after the pair collected seven wins together, and finished second in the team championship standings.

Gravel’s first year with JJR, in 2019, resulted in a career year for both he and the team.

They won 12 races, including the Knoxville Nationals, set Quick Time a staggering 21 times and finished third in points – the fourth year in-a-row Gravel ended the season third. Gravel also earned his 50th career win at the Can-Am World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

Before joining the team in 2019, he spent the previous three years at CJB Motorsports. He claimed five wins with the team in 2018 and an incredible 18 wins in 2017. He also became the first driver in 25 years to score a perfect score at the Knoxville Nationals in 2017.

During his first year with CJB Motorsports in 2016, he improved upon a winless 2015 season, taking nine more checkered flags and earning 36 more top-five performances.

Gravel is the 2013 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year. The young driver has made select starts with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series since 2008. He scored his first series win in 2011 at the Talladega (AL) Short Track.

He joined Roth Motorsports in the middle of the 2014 season and then transitioned to Destiny Motorsports midway through 2015.

Previous Racing History: Gravel ran full-time with the All Star Circuit of Champions for three seasons from 2009 to 2012. He finished third in the championship standings in 2009, 2011 and 2012… In 2010, Gravel was named the Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year… After winning two United Racing Company (URC) features in 2008, Gravel became the youngest feature winner in the history of the series… Gravel has extensive experience and success in quarter midget racing.
