Racefest Returns Renewed

After a historic revival weekend at Mansfield Speedway, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series heads to another long-awaited return: West Virginia Motor Speedway for the Racefest Summer Championship.
This marks just the fourth time the series has competed as part of the Racefest event at the speedway and the first appearance since 2013, when Josh Richards claimed victory. That win came when the facility was still a sprawling 5/8-mile oval; today, the track has been reconfigured into a racy 3/8-mile layout that presents an entirely different challenge.
Historically, Racefest has often belonged to one driver for an entire weekend. Weekend sweeps occurred in 2004, when the late Jackie Boggs captured both features, and again in 2010 with Steve Shaver. But with a new track configuration and a vastly different cast of competitors in the pit area, all signs point to an unpredictable and exciting showdown in the Mountain State.
