FAIRBURY, IL — July 27, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series traveled to Fairbury American Legion Speedway (FALS) for the 29th annual Prairie Dirt Classic (PDC) presented by Bank of Pontiac. Racing action kicked off on Friday, July 27 with four 25-lap World of Outlaws Showdown Qualifier Features paying $2,500 to win and $200 to start apiece, setting part of the field for Saturday’s 100-lap, $30,000-to-win main event of the weekend.

FAIRBURY, IL — July 27, 2018 — Racing action kicked off at Fairbury American Legion Speedway (IL) for the 29th annual Prairie Dirt Classic (PDC) presented by Bank of Pontiac with four 25-lap World of Outlaws “Showdown” Qualifier Features. Chris Simpson, defending Series Champion Brandon Sheppard, reigning Rookie of the Year Devin Moran, and three-time PDC winner Shannon Babb all collected $2,500 apiece for winning their respective Showdowns. With 61 teams on the property, the highest car count of the season, the Qualifiers set part of the field for Saturday’s 100-lap, $30,000-to-win main event.

DAVENPORT, IA — July 24, 2018 — For the first time in 11 years, the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series paid a visit to Davenport Speedway on Tuesday, July 24. The big half-mile located just west of the Iowa/Illinois state line and part of the Quad Cities in Davenport, IA was the site for a $10,000-to-win payday and first race of a marathon two-week stretch for the most powerful stock cars in the world. At the end of the 40-lap Feature, Chad Simpson, from nearby Mt. Vernon, IA, made the home state fans happy by scoring his first career World of Outlaws win in front of an overflow capacity crowd at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds oval.

DAVENPORT, IA – July 24, 2018 – Home state favorite from nearby Mt. Vernon, IA, Chad Simpson held off challenges from current points leader Mike Marlar and late in the race from second in points, Chris Madden to score his first career World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series Feature victory. State of Iowa starts and ends second Wild West Shootout trip with Davenport (July 24th) and Farley (August 6th)

CONCORD, NC — July 20, 2018 — With the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series making its way through the midwestern United States, the premier drivers in the dirt Late Model world continue one of the closest points battles to date. With two upcoming visits to the state of Iowa, defending Series Champion Brandon Sheppard is hoping that his July 7 victory at Dubuque Speedway — the Series’ only other appearance in the Hawkeye State — will propel the New Berlin, IL standout up the points rung.

Sheppard trails Chris Madden by just 12 points for second in the standings and is 34 back of current points leader Mike Marlar. With two more races in Iowa, Sheppard is hoping that previous success earlier in the month of July will carry over and build some much-needed momentum.
