Top Ten at Lakeside Speedway

Fans,
Fans,

Following a runner-up finish on Friday at Belleville High Banks, the Big Game Treestands #7 team headed to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas on Saturday.  In the previous three appearances at the half-mile oval ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ has never finished outside of the top-ten and recorded his best finish, fourth, last June.

A blistering sunny day with temperatures in the 90’s would see 24 sprinters sign into the pit area.  In qualifying Dollansky turned a fast lap of 13.758 seconds, good enough for 2nd fastest and would start the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim fourth in the second heat.  Heat race competition would see Dollansky race closely with Donny Schatz for second but finish 3rd.  In the 6-lap dash to determine the starting grid for the feature, the #7 lost a couple of spots and finished 7th.

When the green flag dropped on the 30-lap A-Main, Dollansky continued to battle an engine that stumbled to take off on restarts and ran eighth after a lap 1 caution.  On the restart Dollansky raced closely with teammate Sammy Swindell and assumed the seventh position by lap 3.  The feature stayed green until another caution on lap 21 at which point the Karavan Trailers #7 lost one spot and ran eighth.  The final nine laps would see the top ten dice it up but Dollansky would neither gain, nor lose any positions as he crossed the finish line 8th and secured another top-ten at the half-mile.

The World of Outlaws schedule now shifts to ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World’, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa for two nights of action in the Mediacom Shootout beginning on June 10th.
