Top-10 Run for McMahan & CJB in the Lone Star State

Fans,
Fans,

TELFORD, PA. – April 29, 2015 – As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas.

$20,000, a signature cowboy hat and the Ted Johnson Memorial trophy were on the line as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series invaded Devils Bowl Speedway near Mesquite.

“We felt really good going into Devils Bowl,” said Paul McMahan, driver of the Bairs Tree Service, Nyce Crete & Landis Block & Concrete and All Star Performance sponsored #51. “We ran really well there last year and nearly won the opening night. This season, it was a battle with Mother Nature. We lost Friday night to rain and then the track crew had to work feverishly to get the pits into shape for Saturday night. We really appreciated their efforts. Our car was good and we were decent throughout the night. We ran well. Started 8th and made up one spot. We couldn’t really progress during the feature. Wasn’t bad for our only stop in Texas this year but we were hoping for better.”

McMahan and the rest of the stars of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series move to northeast to Oklahoma and the Salina High Banks Speedway for a Friday night show on May, 1st. The following night, it’s on Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 near Pevely, Mo. Rounding out the weekend is the series annual visit to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. Last season, McMahan picked up victories at both at I-55 and Tri-State.

“All three tracks on this swing are excellent facilities,” said the California native, “I’ve been to Salina three times and have enjoyed each visit. It’s big, fast and racy. We’ve been there when it’s really wet and really dry. We finished fourth there last year. Pevely is a high-speed bullring and one of the tracks we all look forward to going to each and every time. We will use this visit to work on our notes for the Ironman 55 later on this season. Last year at the Ironman, we won the opening night and were really strong the second night. We’re hoping that success continues for us. Haubstadt is a great way to cap off the weekend. They work on the track all night to make sure it is as close to perfect for us as they can for the feature. We won there last year, which was great. The fans really come out for that event as well. These three tracks are a great way to open up the month of May and a good tune up before we head back into Ohio and Pennsylvania.”
