Schatz Doing Double Duty When World of Outlaws Tackle River Cities on June 20

Fans,
Fans,

Inside Line Promotions – GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The pride of North Dakota will be doing double duty when the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series invades River Cities Speedway on Friday, June 20.

North Dakota native Donny Schatz, who leads the championship standings of the premier sprint car series, will also race in the NLRA Late Models class.

“It’s one of the few times I get to run the late model,” he said. “It’s just something different. It helps my driving style.”

Schatz raced in both classes at River Cities Speedway last August, when he led all 40 laps to win the World of Outlaws main event after using a last-lap pass to claim the NLRA victory.

“There’s been a lot of thrilling races there I’ve been fortunate to be a part of,” he said. “It’s a high-banked quarter mile. It’s always exciting.”

Schatz and Minnesota resident Craig Dollansky are the only drivers to record a trio of World of Outlaws wins at River Cities Speedway. Joey Saldana and 20-time series champion Steve Kinser each have two wins.

Despite those four drivers claiming 10 of the previous 13 main events, there has been a different winner in each of the past five races.

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will also compete at River Cities Speedway on Aug. 15.
