Podium Finish for Saldana at Lebanon Valley

Fans,
Fans,

WEST LEBANON, N.Y. (July 26, 2015) – Following the conclusion of last night’s Summer Nationals at Williams Grove, the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop team hit the road for the long drive to Lebanon Valley Speedway for tonight’s World of Outlaws event.

Tonight’s show was underway as scheduled and hot laps were complete. As qualifying was set to begin, a pop up shower caused a delay. After the track was prepped and groomed following the rain, the drivers got another round of warm ups prior to the start of qualifying.

Saldana, consistently quick in time trials, was the No. 2 qualifier with a 16.191-second lap.

The Brownsburg Bullet lined up fourth in the second heat. When the green flag waved, front row starter Daryn Pittman assumed the lead followed by polesitter Stuart Friesen. Saldana was third. The top three did not change position during the heat and Saldana transferred to the dash.

In the inversion draw, the ‘six’ ping pong ball was pulled, placing Saldana in the third starting position for the dash. On the green, Donny Schatz assumed the lead followed by Brad Sweet, Kerry Madsen and Saldana. The top four maintained their positions through the six-lap dash and they started the A Main the way they finished the dash.

When the green flag dropped sending the field on its 25-lap journey, Schatz was the leader, Brad Sweet was second and Saldana third. The high-banked track with the tight turns was tough and fast and passing was difficult. The top three held their positions from green to checkered flag.

The Motter Team scored three top 5 finishes and qualified in the top two in three consecutive events this weekend.

The teams head north to Canada where they will compete at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario Tuesday, July 28.
