After many years of making a name for himself in the Midwest and getting tastes of traveling, Scotty Thiel is ready to hit the road with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series in 2026. The Sheboygan, WI native is teamed with Greg Wheeler Motorsports to make a run at the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year.
Much of the 34-year-old's success in Sprint Cars has come with the Interstate Racing Association (IRA). He's topped 33 races with the northern series and claimed the 2024 championship. Thiel also spent some time on the road with the All Star Circuit of Champions in 2023.
The "Big Wheel's" racing career began in a unique fashion as he started competing in snowmobile races in 1998. Go-karts were also a part of the path before he eventually graduated to Sprint Cars in 2008.
