Dollansky Survives at Orange County

Fans,
Fans,

For the first time since 2008, Craig Dollansky and the rest of the World of Outlaws returned to Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday as they made their second of three appearances in ‘The Empire State’ and second consecutive race on a big 5/8-mile track.

Located in Middletown, New York, the night began with qualifying where ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ piloted the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim to the 2nd fastest time of the night behind Logan Schuchart with a lap of 17.749 seconds.  Heat race competition put Dollansky outside row two where he advanced one position by the completion of the 8-lap race earning a spot in the dash by virtue of his qualifying effort.  An inversion of six put the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products #7 inside row three where Dollansky held the spot finishing 5th.

In the 25-lap A-Main the MobileStar Maxim started fifth and charged around Kerry Madsen to take fourth by the completion of the first circuit.  As racing continued, Dollansky lost fourth to Schuchart on lap 8 and ran fifth before the first caution came with just 5 laps remaining.  Unfortunately the caution was the first of many to follow as deteriorating track conditions took a toll on tires with four more cautions transpiring before the Big Game #7 became a victim on lap 22.

Able to restart, Dollansky endured two more caution flags before the red was displayed for a fuel stop with the Elk River, Minnesota native in eleventh.  With two circuits remaining, the field saw one more caution flag before making it to the checkered flag with Dollansky finishing 9th as 21 of the 24 cars in the A-Main suffered some sort of problem.

Racing resumes tonight for the Big Game Treestands #7 team at Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland.
