$20K on the line during Dodge City Raceway Park doubleheader in Sept.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series saw relentless action for the lead at Dodge City Raceway Park last year. Fans will see that action doubled this year when the Series returns to the raceway for a doubleheader on Sept. 20-21 with $20,000 on the line between the two days.

Ten-time Series champion Donny Schatz and Ian Madsen put on a thrilling show for fans last year, showing why the World of Outlaws is The Greatest Show on Dirt.

The two dueled throughout the 30-lap race with Schatz taking the lead from Madsen early, but Madsen kept the pressure of the reigning champion for the remainder of the race.

Schatz, who holds the track record of 12.277 sec., will be in search of his fifth win at the raceway this year. He’s already claimed eight wins this season and has been in a tight points battle with Sweet throughout the year. When you find one on track the other isn’t too far behind.

Sweet has the most wins of all drivers, so far, this year – 12, including a win at the Kings Royal – but has yet to win at Dodge City Raceway Park. He’ll look to break that streak in his quest for his first Series championship.

Madsen will be hungry for another win this year with his last win coming in March. He challenged Schatz for the win as a rookie last year. With several more races under his belt, he’ll be ready to contend for the win yet again.

Daryn Pittman, of Owasso, Okla., finished third last year, ready to strike if Schatz or Madsen slipped up. He too will be hungry for a win as he hasn’t won a World of Outlaws race since February. Like Schatz, Pittman has four wins at the raceway already. He’ll be ready to put on a show with his Roth Motorsports team in his hunt for another victory.

The Friday, Sept. 20, show will pay $8,000 to win, while the Saturday, Sept. 21, show will pay $12,000-to-win. With $20,000 on the line between the two races, they’re both sure to put on a thrilling show for fans.

The Inaugural Outlaw Rib Shootout will be a part of the festivities as well on Saturday, September 21, with World of Outlaws team members judging the 40 entries to see who serves up the most savory of ribs.

Grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Get tickets and more information.

While tickets are going fast, remaining tickets for the event are just $35 per night for general admission with reserved seats just $40 per night.  Those planning on taking in both nights can save by getting the ticket package that includes general admission for both nights for just $65 and reserved for both nights for $70.

As always, if you can’t make it to the race, catch all of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series action LIVE on DIRTVision.com.
