Brian Brown, driver of the No. 21 Sprint Car, has been fined $300 for a violation by one of his crew members during the Friday night portion of the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
During Friday’s Feature event, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series Technical Director Ethan McDermott observed a crew member from the Brian Brown Racing team using a laser pointer in an attempt to signal to Brown, in the No. 21 car, while he’s on track.
When the crew member was confronted, he confirmed he was indeed attempting to signal to Brown – a prohibited activity that is addressed in the 2024 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Rule Book.
Due to that, Brown has been assessed a monetary fine. Failure to pay the fine in a timely manner may result in the team not being allowed to race in future World of Outlaws Sprint Car events.
