Outlaws to Tackle Lonestar

Lanigan Leads World of Outlaws Late Models to Lonestar on March 28

Points leader through Florida kicks series back into gear on busy weekend

KILGORE, Texas — March 19, 2014 — The top dirt Late Model touring drivers in the nation will take on the high banks of Lonestar Speedway in the 4th Annual High Banks Havoc on Friday, March 28.

A massive purse is posted, with $10,000 earmarked for the winner of the 50-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series event.

After a month break in the schedule, Darrell Lanigan will lead the hungry pack of Outlaw teams to Texas. Lanigan has already picked up three wins in 2014, including one in WoOLMS competition with his new Club 29 racecar.

Following Kentucky’s Lanigan in the championship standings is Illinois lead-foot Brandon Sheppard, who has been substituting for Rocket Chassis house car driver Josh Richards since the beginning of the season.

Completing the top 10 in Outlaw points are Brady Smith (WI), Rick Eckert (PA), Tim Fuller (NY), Shane Clanton (GA), Ivedent Lloyd Jr. (FL), Tim McCreadie (NY), Morgan Bagley (TX) and Frankie Heckenast Jr. (IL).

Bagley, driver of the P&W Iron Works, P&W Sales, Rocket Chassis is on a real ‘Texas’ streak coming into this event. He picked up the $5,000 to win Turkey Nationals at Lonestar Speedway (the last Late Model event at LSS, held on Nov. 30), and took home the checkers at Texas Motor Speedway’s Port-A-Cool® World Dirt Track Championship two weeks ago.

With much of the nation’s Late Model schedule being dormant on this date, fans can expect a strong contingent of touring invaders for this event.

The current 10-day forecasts show dry and temperatures in the 70’s, which will make for spectacular racing conditions.
