After a rookie season that included his first win and a top-10 points finish, Ethan Dotson has locked in his plans to return for season two on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision.

The Bakersfield, CA native will once again wheel the ASD Motorsports No. 74X in 2026 as he looks to build on his freshman year and become a more regular visitor to Victory Lane.

He’ll do so with a new face by his side, as the team has hired veteran crew chief Cody Mallory to turn the wrenches on Dotson’s machine. Best known for his time with Scott Bloomquist, Mallory has also spent time with Rocket1 Racing, Bobby Pierce and most recently Ryan Gustin early in the 2025 season.

The new-look team has already bagged a win together, as Dotson topped the Wednesday program at the Wild West Shootout for his first win since his Illini 100 victory at Farmer City Raceway last April. He only finished outside the top 10 once in six starts at Central Arizona Raceway, giving the team plenty of confidence rolling into the World of Outlaws opener this week at DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals (Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 22-24).

Dotson knows his way around Volusia Speedway Park as well, as proven by his trio of top fives in the opening weeks of 2025 between Sunshine Nationals and Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals. He’s also had plenty of DIRTcar UMP Modified success at the track, as he won the 2022 Reutimann Memorial, finished second in last year’s edition and has three DIRTcar Nationals Modified wins to his credit.

Dotson will begin his 2026 season with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision at Volusia Speedway Park during DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals (Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 22-24) and Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals (Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 12-14), followed by the Swamp Cabbage 100 at Hendry County Motorsports Park (Friday-Saturday, Feb. 20-21).
