Tony Stewart Racing Tandem Leads Outlaws into Memorial Day Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (May 22, 2012) – There is something special about being an American on Memorial Day weekend. It’s a time to remember and honor those who protect and serve this country. The sport of auto racing is just about as American as it gets and, on Memorial Day weekend, the sport traditionally takes center stage nationally with major events in Charlotte and Indianapolis. The World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series brings its grassroots short-track racing heritage to both regions beginning with Friday’s Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., and concluding Monday with an event at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway.

Kinser Earns Second 2012 Outlaws Win, Grabs Points Lead

Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz raced three nights last week to complete their annual May swing through central Pennsylvania, Maryland and New York. Kinser continued his surge behind the wheel of the TSR No. 11 Bass Pro Shops/J.D. Byrider/Chevrolet Maxim, racing to a top-five finish Wednesday at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbrige, N.Y., and scoring his second triumph of 2012 Saturday by leading all 25 laps of the A-Feature at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y. Schatz, who struggled in qualifying both Saturday and Sunday, closed the week by charging the TSR No. 15 No. 15 STP/Armor All/Chevrolet J&J from 26th to 10th Sunday at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway.

Wisconsin’s Doar Hopes For Season-Turning Run In ‘Jackpot 100’ On May 26 At Tyler County Speedway

$25,000-To-Win World of Outlaws Late Model Series Spectacular Highlights West Virginia Oval’s ‘Bullring Bonanza’ Weekend

By Kevin Kovac, WoO LMS P.R. Director

MIDDLEBOURNE, WV – May 21, 2012 – Normally a driver from Wisconsin wouldn’t look toward a track in West Virginia to turn around a moribund season, but Pat Doar is doing just that as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series heads to Tyler County Speedway this Saturday night (May 26) for the inaugural ‘Jackpot 100.’

The quarter-mile Mountaineer State oval was, of course, very good to Doar last year. The 2011 WoO LMS Rookie of the Year’s first-ever visit for September’s ‘Black Diamond 125’ resulted in a 40-lap Qualifying Feature win worth $10,000 and a solid seventh-place finish in the 45-lap ‘Sweet Sixteen’ finale, giving him reason to believe that a return to Tyler County could bring an end to his frustrating sophomore slump on the national tour.

“We had a good race car from the time we unloaded,” Dollansky said after his third World of Outlaws win of the season.

It was his first career Outlaws victory at Hagerstown Speedway in the series return to the half-mile track following a six-year absence.
