Fast Talkers: Outlaws Talk Kistler Engines Classic, NAPA Rumble

Attica Raceway Park and I-96 Speedway host only World of Outlaws Sprint Car events

ATTICA, Ohio — May 30, 2012 — The World of Outlaws head to Ohio and Michigan this weekend to compete at a pair of tracks for the only time this season.

Attica Raceway Park will host the Kistler Engines Classic on Friday, which will be the Outlaws lone stop at the high-banked, third-mile oval known to slick off.

The series then ventures to the newly reconfigured I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich., on Saturday for the NAPA Rumble. The track was changed from a half mile to a semi-banked, 3/8-mile oval in the offseason. It will be the Outlaws only event in the state of Michigan this season.

Here are some thoughts about the stiff competition, challenging track conditions and the new configuration from some of the full-time World of Outlaws drivers:

Kinser, Schatz, Stewart Experience Highs and Lows on Dirt

Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) opened and closed the Memorial Day Weekend by competing with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series. The TSR contingent of Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart were in action in both North Carolina and Indiana. Friday’s Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway was filled with highs and lows for TSR. Kinser raced into the lead before blowing a tire, Stewart stormed from 12th to third before breaking a suspension component late in the race and Schatz charged from ninth and had a late shot at victory before finishing second. Monday’s stop at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway was more of survival on the high-banked oval with Kinser leading the TSR brigade by coming home fourth.

Kemenah Heats Up in World of Outlaws Return to Lawrenceburg

The Findlay, Ohio, native withstands Kraig Kinser in an epic, side-by-side battle

LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. — May 28, 2012 — The hottest race day of the season produced arguably the best feature in a special Memorial Day event.

Fighting temperatures in the mid-90s and high humidity most of the day on Monday, Chad Kemenah outlasted Kraig Kinser to claim the first World of Outlaws feature at Lawrenceburg Speedway since 2009.

“I seen Kraig get underneath me a couple of times and I figured we were going to win it or wear it,” Kemenah said. “Kraig, he’s an awesome race car driver. He could have probably pinched me off there a couple of times. He raced me like I race him I believe and that matters.”
