In 1947, a 1/5-mile oval dirt track called the “Tri-City Speedway” operated at the facility. During the 1950's & 1960's, the facility was used as an outdoor drive-in theater.
In 1992, the Izzo family opened the LaSalle Speedway. Over a decade of improvements and renovations have been done to the facility. The racing surface has received many loads of new clay, while skyboxes were added and grandstands were expanded. The track has hosted premier organizations that include the DIRTcar Summer Nationals and the World of Outlaws.
