World of Outlaws Return to Iowa

CONCORD, NC– May 18, 2018– After a one year hiatus from Iowa, the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series returns to the Hawkeye State three times in 2018, including stops at Dubuque Speedway on July 6, Davenport Speedway on July 24, and Farley Speedway on August 6.

As part of the Series’ 30th commemorative anniversary season, the Outlaws are returning to several tracks visited in the early years. Davenport Speedway and Farley Speedway both made their debuts with the World of Outlaws during the Series rebirth season in 2004. Both tracks have since held one additional event. The following year in 2005, Dubuque made its first and last appearance on the World of Outlaws schedule. Until now.

Final Time Through Tennessee in 2018

CONCORD, NC– May 18, 2018– The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series kicks off the month of June in Tennessee for two thrilling 50-lap $10,000-to-win feature events. The Series’ final stop in the Volunteer State this season will begin on June 1 at Seymour, Tennessee’s 411 Motor Speedway and will conclude in Bulls Gap, TN at Volunteer Speedway on June 2.

Weaver takes Volusia in Season Opener

The opening round of the new iRacing World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Championship Series brought us to Volusia Speedway Park, one of the most unique tracks on the iRacing service. The short straights, sweeping corners, and specifically the curved back straight away challenges many competitors.

With that said, the season opener was expected to be a brilliant race, and it delivered.

The first four heat races featured hard but mostly clean driving, demonstrating that these guys were here for the big show. Drivers in transfer spots early raced smart. The back half of the field took more chances. Multiple grooves widened the track as the race went on, which gave us plenty of three-wide action.

Outlaw Invasion at Atomic Shifts to Sept. 28-29

WAVERLY, OH – May 17, 2018 – The two-day Outlaw Invasion scheduled this weekend at Atomic Speedway is shifting to Sept. 28-29 because of persistent rain. The weather this week led World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series officials and Atomic Speedway staff to move the event to the fall, placing the doubleheader right in the stretch run of the highly anticipated 2018 championship battle.

CHILLICOTHE, OH– May 15, 2018– The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series gets set for a doubleheader weekend of two complete $10,000-to-win shows at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio on May 18-19 for the Outlaw Invasion. Last year, Devin Moran collected his first-ever World of Outlaws win at the 3/8-mile dirt track.

Jimmy Owens Lands First in Flight 100 Victory

FAYETTEVILLE, NC– May 12, 2018– Jimmy Owens outran the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series regulars at Fayetteville Motor Speedway to claim a $25,001 payday during the inaugural First in Flight 100 presented by Hoker Trucking. The veteran driver of Newport, TN also collected an extra $2,001 on Friday evening after winning the 10-lap “Big C Dash for Cash” which honored the late Carlton Lamm.

FAYETTEVILLE, NC– May 11, 2018– Jimmy Owens joined the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series at Fayetteville Motor Speedway for the preliminary night of the First in Flight 100. Owens claimed the PFC Breaks Fast Time Award (and set a new track record of 15.839 around the 4/10-mile), drew the pole position and claimed a $2,001 victory during the Big C Dash for Cash.

“I’m afraid tomorrow night that you’re not going to want to start up front. It’s going to be kind of crazy,” said Owens. “The car has been flawless all night… It was a pleasure to win this race for the Lamm’s. We got to race with them a lot these past few years so we really hate for the loss.”

CONCORD, NC – May 8, 2018– After more than 14 consecutive seasons together, Chub Frank has officially retired from competition with the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series. Frank has entered every World of Outlaws event since the Series rekindled in 2004 (except for two races due to an injury).

Over the years, Frank has collected 16 World of Outlaws wins, with his first win being on April 23, 2004 in his home state of Pennsylvania at Lernerville Speedway, and his last win being at K-C Raceway (now Atomic Speedway) in Ohio on August 22, 2009. Frank currently sits 10th on the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series All-Time Wins list.

Chris Madden Scores Second Win of 2018 at Senoia

SENOIA, GA– May 5, 2018– Chris Madden wheeled his way to victory at Senoia Raceway for the 4th annual Billy Clanton Classic. The Gray Court, SC driver collected his second World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series win of the season.

“Man, what an awesome place and what an awesome race to come and win,” said Madden. “Me and Shane [Clanton] are like best friends out on this tour and he has been so kind to me, him and his family. I just want to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for this race. It means a lot to me.”
