World of Outlaws Invade NAPA Shootout at I-80 Speedway This Friday

Fans,
Fans,

Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. – Compliments fill the air when World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series drivers talk about I-80 Speedway, which hosts the premier sprint car series this Friday for the first time since 2003 during the NAPA Shootout.

“I haven’t been there in a long time,” Paul McMahan said. “It’s one of the nicer tracks that we go to. It’s a big facility.”

McMahan is one of the six drivers atop the current World of Outlaws championship standings who have yet to claim an Outlaws win at I-80 Speedway. In fact, only two drivers – 20-time series champion Steve Kinser and three-time series winner Sammy Swindell – have garnered World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series wins at the high-banked oval.

“It’s a good-sized race track and a lot of fun,” Kinser said. “It’s nice that we get to go back there and run. It’s always been a good track to race on and a lot of fun for the fans.”

Kinser recorded wins in 2002 and 1999 with Swindell earning victories in 1999 and 1997.

Former full-time World of Outlaws driver Danny Lasoski captured three of the last six races, including the most recent one in 2003.

I-80 Speedway delivers a lot of great action for the drivers as well as the fans,” Lasoski said. “Friday will be another exciting event and I’d encourage everyone to head to I-80 Speedway if they are within driving distance.”
