Victory and Near Sweep of Hagerstown for Dollansky

Fans,
Fans,

The lone stop of the season in Maryland was next for Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team as the World of Outlaws took on Hagerstown Speedway on Sunday for the first time in seven years for Round 2 of the Kasey Kahne Challenge.

Making his 5th appearance at the half-mile oval, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ blistered the competition by topping the charts in qualifying among the 34 total drivers.  The lap of 15.132 seconds also tied Dollansky with teammate Sammy Swindell with three quick-times atop the series qualifying standings.

Starting from outside row two in heat #1, the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim motored to second and then claimed the top spot on the last lap to seal the victory and become the first fast-qualifier to win his heat race this season.  Not letting the six-pill inversion slow him down in the dash, Dollansky lined up sixth and went to work much like in the heat mashing the throttle and assuming second in the first two turns and then hounding Paul McMahan for the lead but ultimately finishing 2nd.

In the 25-lap A-Main the MobileStar backed sprinter started outside the front row and powered into the lead as the field roared into turn 1.  Following a caution on lap 2, Dollansky chose the highside for the double-file restart and again rocketed into the lead and opened up a near two second lead aboard the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products #7 by the seventh circuit.  As action continued, the Elk River, Minnesota native set a torrid pace knifing through lapped traffic as the main event stayed green the rest of the way with ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ racing under the checkered flag by almost a straightaway advantage to score his third World of Outlaws victory of 2012.

“We had a great race car from the start and it was a good job by my crew DJ, Luke, and Sean Michael who has been helping out the past couple races,” commented Dollansky who now has four victories this season.  “We had the benefit of a good pill draw but this car did a good job of rotating the corner from the job DJ did and Brian Morrison who does an awesome job with our motor program.  To be able to win close to home for him is awesome.

“We’ve got so many people supporting us from Big Game Treestands, Aggressive Hydraulics, MobileStar, Aeroquip, to others like Maxim, Integra Shocks, Wings Unlimited, DMI, and many others.  There are just so many great people behind us that it takes to make this happen and it’s a great win for this entire team.”
