Tough Going in Vegas Opener for Dollansky

Fans,
Fans,
After escaping the cool winter temps of Minnesota, the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team made the long trek to the bright lights of Las Vegas as they commenced  the month of March with a two-day stop at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas beginning on Wednesday.  Set to go for the first mid-week show of the 2013 season, Craig Dollansky was aiming for his first victory at the big half-mile in his 46th appearance that includes 21 top-tens with 14 of those being top-five finishes.

With a solid field of 42 drivers on hand, Dollansky was one of the last cars to qualify and stopped the clock at 15.299 seconds which resulted in 18th fastest.  Missing the sixteen car inversion for the heat races meant ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ would have his work cut out in the heat to transfer into the feature.  Following a bad initial start, the MobileStar #7 used a great green-white-checkered restart to steal 5th and earn the final transfer position before the checkered flag flew on the 8-lap race.

In the 30-lap main event the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter lined up outside row nine on the starting grid and motored past four drivers in the opening circuits before the first yellow was displayed on lap 8.  Following a pair of cautions by lap 13, Dollansky lost a couple spots before another yellow just after the halfway point with 16 laps complete.  From that point the A-Main struggled to maintain green flag action as two more yellows in as many laps halted action before the feature stayed green the final twelve circuits with the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim crossing the line in 15th.

Racing action in Las Vegas for the World of Outlaws concludes tonight with another full program.  Be sure to listen or watch all the action LIVE on DIRTvision.com and follow Facebook.com/DollanskyRacing for updates throughout the night on the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team.
