Saldana Finishes Sixth in Calistoga Saturday Feature

Fans,
Fans,

CALISTOGA, Calif. (April 11, 2015) – Tonight was the first of a two-night World of Outlaws stand at picturesque Calistoga Speedway in the heart of the California wine country.

Joey Saldana was fastest in hot laps tonight and logged his second No. 1 qualifying effort of the season, lapping the half-mile in 15.782 seconds in the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop 71M.

In the opening heat of the evening, Saldana started fourth and finished second, which earned him a spot in the dash.

The ‘zero’ ping pong ball pulled in the inversion draw favored Saldana, placing him on the pole of the dash. The Brownsburg Bullet used the starting position to his advantage, winning the dash along with the pole of the A Main.

In the feature, Saldana led laps 6-14. He was running fourth coming down for the checkered flag but slowed with fuel pick-up problems crossing the finish line in sixth position.

Brad Sweet won the event followed by Shane Stewart and Jason Sides.

The Outlaws will be back at Calistoga tomorrow night for an encore performance.
