National Open Night 1 Recap for Dollansky

Fans,
Fans,

The challenging ‘PA Posse’ and Williams Grove Speedway was up next for Craig Dollansky and the rest of the World of Outlaws as they geared up for one of the biggest weekends on the schedule, the 50th Annual National Open.

Set to go in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania a stout field of 55 cars signed in for competition.  A mid-pack draw for qualifying saw Dollansky pilot the Big Game Treestands #7 to the 16th fastest lap at 17.810 seconds.  With the top twenty inverted into five heats, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ started on the pole for heat #1 and motored out to the led and victory.  Earning a spot in the dash then put the Aggressive Hydraulics backed sprinter outside row four for the 6-lap event and went on to finish 10th.

In the 25-lap A-Main the Elk River, Minnesota native lined up outside row five.  When the green flag waved on the main event a long stretch of green flag action endured until just after the halfway point on lap 16 when the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products #7 ran twelfth.  Following the only caution of the feature, Dollansky tried to make the highside work on the ensuing double-file restart but lost a couple of spots during the remaining laps finishing in 14th.

The Big Game Treestands #7 team returns to Williams Grove Speedway on Saturday for the $50,000-to-win National Open.
