Larson Marks Looks to Keep Momentum Going at Salina and Pevely

MIDWEST INVASION: Shane Stewart and his No. 2 Larson Marks Racing team will continue their Midwest run Friday night at Salina (Okla.) Highbanks Speedway and Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.

RETURNING WINNER: In 2015, Larson Marks Racing earned wins at both Salina (Okla.) Highbanks Speedway and Federated Auto Parts Speedway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo. Despite growing up in nearby Bixby, Okla., it was Stewart’s first win at Salina, the .375-mile track an hour from his home town. The 39-year-old finished seventh in the spring race at I-55 and followed that up with a runner-up finish and a win at the Ironman, the series’ longest race of the season.

STARTING STRONG: Larson Marks Racing has had a strong started to the 2016 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season. In 20 World of Outlaw starts so far this year, the team has earned two wins, 12 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes and currently sits second in the championship point standings.

MOVING ON UP: In the 20 World of Outlaw races completed this season, Larson Marks Racing and Stewart have held or improved their starting position in all but three races.

HAMMER HILL RECAP: The World of Outlaws returned to I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., for the first time in 20 years on Tuesday night. Stewart has three previous wins at the quarter-mile track, two coming in Short Track Nationals preliminary nights and one in the American Sprint Car Series. Stewart qualified 16th, finished sixth in his heat, and gained six positions in the feature event to earn a 10th-place finish Tuesday night.

LARSON MARKS RACING OWNERS: Larson Marks Racing is co-owned by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) driver Kyle Larson and NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) driver Justin Marks. Marks also owns GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, N.C. and is co-owner of HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks, a four-car NASCAR K&N Pro Series East team. Larson will be competing for his first NSCS win and Marks for his first NXS win this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

LARSON MARKS RACING TEAM: The Larson Marks Racing team is led by crew chief Scotty Martin of Camano Island, Wash., with Andrew Seamans from Syracuse, N.Y., and Heath Moyle of Middleburg, Pa.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following Saturday’s race at Federated Auto Parts Speedway at I-55, Larson Marks Racing will next compete at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway on Wednesday, May 4.
